What do we do when life’s mysterious unfolding takes us to the very places we fear the most?
There are moments in our lives where we realize that our old stories of who we are and where we belong in the world no longer fit what is beginning to emerge in us. Perhaps a major life event shakes things up, wrenching away the very ground beneath our feet. In other cases, it builds more slowly, as a soft but undeniable longing for things to be different. Sometimes it may be nothing more than a vague sense that something bigger, better and more aligned is out there waiting for us.
These threshold moments can be thrilling, filled with anticipation and excitement, but they can also be deeply painful. The process of outgrowing our old warm and familiar clothing, no matter how necessary, always involves some measure of loss. We attempt to hold tight to what has safely and reliably brought us to this point, only to find that these old patterns are what is keeping us stuck and unhappy.
